The ranch

We are a family operation that has been providing horseback excursions in the Gunnison Valley for 40 years. Our ranch is located (only) 4 1/2 miles out of town and it is easy to get to. The horses we use are exceptional as they are used to take riders into the back country for a week at a time in the summer and they carry hunters throughout the fall. They are gentle enough that they carry many disabled clients on 5 day pack trips in the summer and at the same time,  give an experienced rider a very enjoyable ride. We have horses to fit all levels of ability! Raven Rider Stables also invite friends and families with differing abilities. Our horses our part of our family and we know their personalities well enough that we can match you to a horse you will love.

The rides out of the ranch are very scenic as we ride up on the ridges above us where you can see for miles. From the mountains about Crested Butte to the North to the collegiate peaks about Taylor Park to the East, to the La Garita Wilderness and Powderhorn primitive area near Lake City to the North!
